I recall going directly to Rosetta Stone, buying some an entire Latin American course unit from them and having them place it into my LMS for me. Lets assess.

That said, there were some hiccups and from an entire vendor wise (expo here) angle, some unique and some, uh. This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . I see way too many vendors think a web site is all they need and people will find them.

The minus: vendors come out of the woodwork to tell you their system meets those needs. I mean if you say you need “e-commerce for 500 users, certificates, ability to add users to groups for courses”, that would cover about 550 systems. Write vendors’ names on pencils and throw them at the ceiling.

On each Vendor listing – as you see in the above catalog example, if the vendor is in my Top 50 rankings for 2019, they will have an icon identifying them, Purple – Top 50, Dark Blue – Top 20, Green – Top 10. . In the area of transparency, these are vendors who have purchased additional options.

Even if these new little cloud vendors offered more elegant features, they were not built to run in large-scale enterprise settings, so the chance of gaining a foothold was slim. While most LMS vendors support direct uploads within their systems, they prefer embedded or linked videos from YouTube , Wistia , Vimeo or Brightcove.
