What I am seeing is an increase in learning system vendors exploring online/offline synch with the iPad/iPad2 (and yes, Android OS).

The salesperson told me they have been in the commercial space for years – Yeah, I know that – but when you think Blackboard you think education – silence. The course they show you uses educational terms, not corporate terms – which is funny since the product i.e. integration with Salesforce.com is purely corporate.

Best of all, whether you are utilizing AR in education (I see this as a massive win for all students) or at a business location, you are no longer stuck with courses, even sims that are either boring, lack constant engagement or as we all know, turn off folks who frankly do not like e-learning. How about – Litmos actually skinning the product themselves – as the majority of vendors do – at no additional charge or more simple click customization options. Currently, Litmos does not offer the ability for online/offline synchronization with a mobile device.

I know of educators who have said that because it is timed, there is no way someone could view their notes, etc. Working on the course - one is online then goes offline and the other author goes online. This is the one downside to taking exams online, even if you have a time limit. and still complete the test. I disagree.

Self contained app on a tablet or I hate to say it – smartphones – bottom line everything can be done within the app, no need to click the app and go to the vendor’s online tool – after all, if that is the capability today, why would I even want the app, since I can just click my browser?
