The backgrounds that I created were done in Photoshop with filters and effects. If Photoshop makes you sweat, then you’ll be happy to know that starting in PowerPoint 2007, there are a number of pretty useful filters you can do to “recolor” your backgrounds and PowerPoint 2010 adds a number of new effects.

Here’s a screencast I did to show how that works. They have all sorts of content from meeting with clients to Photoshop tips. It’s one of my favorite tools because it makes team collaboration and file syncing so easy. I also use Clusterurl quite a bit. I like to create clusters when I’m doing research. The content was gone.

My issue with Captivate is that this product is from Adobe – a major player in technology with products such as Premiere and Photoshop. HD screencast. Here is to all the conspiracy designers and folks out there who think that I am biased because this product is not in the top ten, let alone #1. Bias has nothing to do with it.

I cited my previous argument that they had Premiere, Photoshop from the early to mid 90′s and Audition – another product and never added any of items or components from these products into Captivate to give it more punch. Interactions, actors/avatars, HD screencasts. HTML5 output, Tin Can. Text to Speech – awesome!

Upload screencasts to YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo or S3 (and the program tells you the limits YouTube allows – something many vendors do not). Share online recordings. The price? $49
