They may be possessive of it so assure them you won’t change meaning – just make it concise and deliver in instructionally sound manner. We want a course that is: Efficient use of learners’ time, as well as the organization’s time.

Sound Engineer and Voice Talent - Oh how I wish I had a budget for voice talent and a professional studio. Videographer and Editor - Everything from taking and editing videos to editing videos others were nice enough to provide. Then appropriately incorporating them in courses, your Intranet, Yammer, etc.

It just annoys me and I end up turning the sound off. I only ask that you give users the option of turning the sound off and that they have the option of moving forward without listening the entire narration. FYI: I want the video to add to the content, not overshadow it. Narration - a talking head can narrate each page.

Include audio and any appropriate sound effects. Sound is a great attention grabber, easy to import into Flash, and if you are using it in your course it can provide a preview of the course’s use of audio as a medium. Make it entertaining. If using humor, be very cautious not to offend anyone.

On the design end, the industry will focus much more on offering truly engaging, instructionally sound courses and our audience will demand it. We will offer even more edu-games. Again Flash will still be preferred as HTML5 just won't be there yet. Hopefully page turners will be extinct by 2015.

I believe there are some great rapid development tools, but these still require sound instructional design, which takes time and effort, starting with a needs analysis. I will say this, if they are not adhering to instructional design principles, then they are far less likely to improve workers' performance.

Whether a software sim or a soft skill branching sim, it should have sound instruction/directions and feedback for incorrect choices or answers. Provide learning guidance - This is an opportunity for the learner to apply the learned knowledge or skill, but with guidance. A good example is a simulation.

Provide a course that has EVEN less interactive elements, media use, fewer graphics with revisions and more instructionally sound content to be added at later time. However, be very careful not to make this the norm and get stuck in the " rapid e-learning " rut of producing dreck and calling it training.
