New Year Thoughts about 3D Virtual Worlds for Learning

What seemed like science fiction a few decades ago is now reality. While creating products, working on deliverables and collaborating across organizations on a large scale in virtual worlds seems like science fiction, the truth is that 3D environments for working, learning and collaborating are the not-too-distant future. Today, for many, it is hard to imagine a 3D Internet when so much content and information is still presented in two dimensions.

Blog Book Tour Recap Week Three: hectic

Week three was a bit hectic for the tour. First, Tony and I both had live appearances and then we had an early post, a post-poned post and a Saturday post.hectic but exciting. Here is the re-cap. Day Eleven: Randy Hinrichs at his 2b3D's blog. Had an entry titled Welcome to 2b3d 3D Learning Blog Time where he talked about the fact that "3D virtual learning is about the experience" and not about the technology.

Today is the beginning of a 30+ stop blog book tour. Below are the tour dates and "stop" locations. During the Blog Book tour, I will be not be posting on Kapp Notes, instead, I will be posting on the blogs which are listed below. (although I will have some posts about live appearances and such.) The tour will last into February and promises to be a lot of fun.

Presentation Resources for Learning Tree Presentation

Today, I met some wonderful folks at at Learning Tree International's Learning Leader's Forum. I presented on the topic of "Innovations in Technology and the Impact on Organizational Learning" at an early morning breakfast meeting which was a little early considering I met up the night before with some alumni and had a great dinner at a wonderful Italian Restaurant.

Train for Success Meeting was a Success!

Today, Tony O'Driscoll and I had the pleasure of meeting with the Train for Success group lead by Anders Gronstedt of The Gronstedt Group as part of our online book tour. We met at the United States Holocaust Museum where we ran into, by accident, David Klevan the Education Manager at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. It was great running into David because he is a contributor to the book!
