All they care about is whether the system is in “the cloud” SaaS or “in the cloud” to the consumer means that is it hosted on your servers or wherever you host your LMS and they can access it via the internet regardless of where they are located as long as they have an internet connection. Moodle can be a worthwhile system but it requires heavy customization, dedicated IT person who has Moodle skill sets (ideal), in-house support (because when end users can’t figure it out – they will come calling YOU) and costs that many folks fail to realize. Low cost systems are typically SaaS based (then again, the LMS industry as a whole is more SaaS based than hosted on your servers). The big win for me is the language personalization, whereas each end user can view their home page and other screens in their native language with a simple click of the countries’ flag. Bottom Line.

While the pricing is outrageous and the Saba as a whole seems better suited as a HCM, their learning suite is a better alternative than those who want Cornerstone OnDemand. Immediate multilingual personalization -i.e. Authoring tools (built-in or interfacing with a 3rd party vendor) – this is different then uploading courses from a 3rd party authoring tool – which nearly all do – except those who offer only proprietary capabilities.
