Cornerstone CSX still doesn’t come with a built-in authoring tool, a reason my guess, is the presumption that the client already has one, but then with CSX comes Content Studio, the name of which adds to some confusion. While PWA is a very good alternative to having native on/off mobile apps, I understand that it is something that just a lot of vendors will not do, and I get that. Cornerstone Learning Suite, Fuse, Litmos by SAP, eLogic Learning, SumTotal Learning Management, Growth Engineering. Mobile is great, with on/off synch, native apps.

Authoring tools continued to be a mish-mash, with many continuing to forget what their number one goal truly is – creating content/courses. Articulate Rise, is a cloud-based authoring tool, not a hybrid – and will fully admit as so. Desktop authoring tools are still out there -and yes, I too, ask why. .

While, a BI tool or component will be a feature to watch (with LMSs adding it), for an IOL it will be a necessity. An LMS thus is under e-learning.

The system has come a long way – and that is a good thing, with a nice UI and components including mobile learning. Some conversations I have with them includes pitching themselves as some type of business intelligence tool with learning, other times it is the opposite. So, why aren’t they higher? Minor tweaks still needed.
