But I firmly believe that this journey Im on is giving me the experience and educational equivalent (if not better) than a formal M.Ed. A good aggregator (like Stephen Downes) will get me the info I need so Im not missing the really juicy stuff. Nevertheless, their voices are deeply etched in my brain, and I could have picked any of them out of a lineup if we were going by voice and not visual. If I notice Im losing someones attention in class, Ill instantly make direct eye-contact, maybe raise an eyebrow, and start talking directly to that student, and most of the time.

Mixed visual-auditory stimuli have an underadditive effect, so that if you have to do both at the same time, total brain activation goes down. So its interesting to think about this underadditive effect where "total brain activation goes down" if presenting in both visual and auditory at the same time. Im way out of practice.
