Yesterday I created a screen cast on LinkedIn for Finding Expertise. This is definitely a knowledge work task where talking to someone will help. How would I get a conversation going with someone on this topic? Today, I saw a post on our Free - Web 2.0 But how long do I have to wait to receive a response to my query?

And what I often cite as the biggest change in knowledge work skills over the past 20 years is the change in access to people. But, more remarkable is that now you have a lot of mechanisms to reach out to people and find expertise. This is a great example of what you can find by reaching out to seek conversation.

I do a lot of presentations where one of the topics is how to use LinkedIn more effectively as part of your knowledge work. In most cases, I will ask for a show of hands: How many of you have a LinkedIn Account? Generally 50-70%. How many of you actively use LinkedIn? Generally down to 10%.
