I identify the Big Dogs as SumTotal by Skillsoft (yes, that is the actual name), Cornerstone OnDemand, Saba, SucessFactors and Oracle Taleo (although, I ask myself who is using this and if you still are why?). Are they better suited than anyone else for Enterprise or Extended Enterprise? SumTotal by Skillsoft – the 2016 re-haul is a huge plus. SumTotal by Skillsoft. I still see it as a strong system, especially for extended enterprise, but I have some minor concerns (based on feedback from some current clients) that causes me to place the system at #9. #8 Very good for extended enterprise systems and even standalone systems i.e. without going multi-tenant. Initially, the conversation was about having learning content appear on the enterprise portal. Assuming that your learning audience regularly visits the enterprise portal, then its great to be able to show employees upcoming learning events, training requirements, content that might be of interest, or other similar things. Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. While the learning cloud and extended enterprise cloud are purchased by folks, I still see the platform – assuming you get all the modules as a HCM. That said, they are in my top 40 for learning/extended enterprise cloud. I always hear “I’m looking at SumTotal, CoD, Expertus”, when folks mention it to me. There is nothing like interaction. Am I missing something?

It has become an add-on fee for many vendors, and even worse, many of whom have an “extended enterprise&# or multi-tenet system (or advertise that option). Let me be clear on this, in order to have extended enterprise, you need e-commerce. I am still hearing of problems with Captivate 5 and SumTotal. Hopefully, SumTotal will release an update to solve this. After one quarter (for most companies) into the fiscal calendar year, it is time to see what the future holds in our space. SumTotal? It works for their Total LMS (Enterprise) and for their Geo Learning Maestro. As I write on my iPad, thoughts swirl abound. With all these vendors talking about their solution and its capabilities on mobile devices, it should be easy to find an app for that. Regardless if the vendor is m-learning specific, content authoring tool, LMS, web conferencing or a hybrid. It shouldn’t matter. If your telling me your solution is mobile ready, then all I should need to do is go iTunes or Android and find your app. Simple, right? Ahh, here’s the rub. It isn’t.
