I understand this list is more inclined towards tools that learning professionals use for their own learning as opposed to those used for creating learning programs or training sessions. Our newer products, like Jing, drop some of the legacy C++ code for shiny new C# and.NET. We use Ruby for writing tools. As Windows evolves, so does our software. These apps all are starting to take advantage of new technologies like C# and WPF in addition to frameworks like Qt. Our web products run on Microsoft servers using ASP.NET.

Just started using Jing , a free online screen capture program. Tags: tools Jing software Screen Capture. It's not as full-featured as Snagit but it is simple, easy to use and does the job. This program hangs around as a "sun" image at the top of your screen. You can record audio as you record the screen action.
