Content marketplace/exchange – Multiple off-the shelf content providers, some are free, most are fee-based. Most LXPs, you (on the back-end) can see the off-the-shelf content providers in the marketplace and then move forward and choose to put into the system (via free) or buy and then it goes into the system.

In each case, push and pull exists, because even if it is content from a 3rd party provider, which in the Hub it is, the content is sitting on the content provider’s server, and not directly within your learning system. 3rd party content providers include Open Sesame, LinkedIn Learning and Skillsoft to name a few. .

Saba always thought of themselves behind the scenes as a performance management system, even though they publicly pushed it for L&D – employees. When they went course aggregator, I saw them as a nice alternative to Skillsoft who was off acquiring other course providers including NetG and then down the road, Element K.
