20 Saba Learning Suite. With its m-learning capability including on/off synch and rather solid UI, the product continues to be an effective solution. While the pricing is outrageous and the Saba as a whole seems better suited as a HCM, their learning suite is a better alternative than those who want Cornerstone OnDemand.

Still in existence Saba – Today? I can’t recall the first Articulate product, but Adobe soon launched Presenter, then Articulate down the road, many years, sent us, Studio. The first inkling of RCATs was a product called Dreamweaver, which was designed for web site design. Sure folks. Yet, very popular.

ExpertusOne – Once a darling of mine, but now, not sure of the direction of the company nor the product. Who Didn’t. In other words, you can do better.

Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. I have known SumTotal for a long time, and I can say, that this latest version of the product is by far the best version. Unicorn LMS, Workday Learning, Degreed, Saba, Torch LMS, Learn Amp. Saba’s machine learning is fantastic, but they haven’t really pushed the envelope beyond that powerhouse of a component.

Similar thoughts are often associated with SumTotal (although they have vastly improved their UI, but they do see themselves at least from my take, and even through a Google search as a HCM, especially after the acquisition by Skillsoft), SuccessFactors, Oracle Learn, Saba, Kenexa and a few others. It can make or break any product.

I identify the Big Dogs as SumTotal by Skillsoft (yes, that is the actual name), Cornerstone OnDemand, Saba, SucessFactors and Oracle Taleo (although, I ask myself who is using this and if you still are why?). However, I will say this: I like what Saba is doing. The system still – equally as Saba – needs some work.

While the UI is vastly improved, on the admin side it needs a slight touch – but don’t get wrong the product is doable and nice. Feature wise this product is fantastic. Saba: See SumTotal.

Volatile - in that people change systems more than say some other e-learning products (ex: authoring tools, web conferencing products). I’m a big fan of them and I use the product. These vendors include ExpertusOne and Saba (and there are other vendors out there too). Thus you have one app (PayPal) talking to another app (Quickbooks) and automatically posting the information into Quickbooks, without you having to go into Quickbooks and do it yourself.

People either love or hate Cornerstone OnDemand, SumTotal Learn, Saba, SuccessFactors. If you are seeking an HCM or a system and plan to buy two or more modules, then Cornerstone, SumTotal, Saba are definite routes to consider.
