Mobile Learning – The Third Dimension

Upside Learning

An organization’s ability to learn, and translate that learning into action rapidly, is the ultimate competitive advantage. – Jack Welch. For today’s organizations, the quest for demonstrable ‘competitive advantage’ is unending and seen as the key to success. The ability to identify and capture this advantage is second only to retaining it, which, in the ever-changing landscape of globalization, shrinking markets and the shifting sands of technology is challenging to say the least!

Enterprise Community Management: “joining up” learning and working

Jane Hart

For some time now I’ve sensed a split in the learning profession in terms of recognising the value and importance of self-managed learning as it takes place in the flow of daily work. There are some who think that unless they have been responsible for an individual’s learning (i.e. they have designed, delivered, tracked and managed the whole process), then it is of little relevance or consequence to the L&D department, and view self-organised team learning as a “work”

Yes, you do have to change

Clark Quinn

Of late, I’ve seen a disturbing trend. Not only are the purveyors of existing solutions preaching caution and steadiness, but it even seems like some of the ’names’ of the field are talking in ways that make it easy to think that the industry is largely doing ok. And I do not understand this, because it’s demonstrably wrong.

Culture Change is More Than Skin Deep

The Performance Improvement Blog

The new Pope appears to have made culture change top on his list of priorities. He has shown surprising humility in his words and actions, riding the bus with his Cardinals, rejecting wearing some of the elaborate vestments worn by past popes, and stepping out of his car and engaging with the crowds. These are signs that Pope Francis is taking steps to change a historically secretive institution; one that has recently suffered from leaked internal documents that imply palace intrigue.

Can creativity be organised?

It may sound absurd to say we should ‘organise’ creativity. For many people, creativity and organisation are two extreme ends of a spectrum. Creative ideas are supposed to appear from nowhere when we don’t expect them. That’s just how the creative process works – which means it must be okay for creative people to be totally disorganised, right? They certainly think so!
