I also caught up with my friends from Enspire Learning. I spoke with a bunch of folks from Enspire but got to see Robert Bell present with Randy Esterling (of ConAgra) who presented on the topic of “Managing Talent for Results”: a Serious Game for Business Managers that Really Works. had a great time at the ASTD ICE Conference which recently concluded in Dallas Texas. SAP partnered with an e-learning design company, Enspire Learning , located in Austin, Texas to craft six, hour-long modules tackling six major difficulties with distributed, or “virtual,” teams the training including a 20-minute capstone simulation for each of the six modules. Enspire and SAP recognized the significant design challenge of meaningfully discussing cultural differences while remaining sensitive to the cultures of learners world-wide. The Serious Play Conference, taking place August 23-25 at DigiPen Institute of Technology, has announced the International Serious Play Awards , a program to recognize and certify exemplary products for training or learning in the education, corporate, government/military, healthcare and consumer markets. Enspire Learning. Met some wonderful people and had a great time at the inaugural SPBT event The medical Device and Diagnostic Trainers Summit. The presentation was a great deal of fun. We played “Fact or Fishy” which resulted in a tie between team A and Team B. Excellence in Content: Gold: Enspire Learning. Cisco Systems partnered with Enspire Learning to create an e-learning course on organizational learning. Bronze: Enspire Learning. The ninth annual Chief Learning Officer Learning In Practice Awards recognized learning leaders, vendors and organizations that have made a substantive and measurable change in business, vision, strategic alignment or leadership. Learning providers were recognized for their service in eight categories, including e-learning, academic partnerships and social learning. These are their stories.

Enspire thought the combination of linear and non-linear course navigation gave learners the right amount of control. In a previous post, we looked at how you can make your elearning courses more effective and engaging by getting your learners to pull the course content rather than you just pushing it out to them. A great way to create a pull-type course is build it around problem-solving scenarios.

I was going through the Demonstrations and Case Studies on the Enspire Learning website when I came across a marvelous simulation on Virtual Team Management. You can access the demos by registering. As a part of a project team that is globally distributed at the moment, I realized how important the parameters mentioned in the simulation are for the success of such projects. Never assume!

Helfrich who tweets as @studentlifeguru for this interesting article about Sun Microsystems, (a wholly owned subsidiary of Oracle) who teamed up with vendor Enspire Learning to develop two online video games as part of its new hire integration process. Thanks to Scott M. One goal of this $100,000 enterprise was to target Gen X and Gen Y employees. Sol City is in danger.

Working with federal contractor SAIC and Carney Inc., DISA rolled out a new annual training program called the Cyber Awareness Challenge in late 2012.

Learning objectives clarify exactly what it is youre trying to teach. But I find them painfully boring to read and to write. And yet one could argue that most learners dont even bother reading them. Really?
