I have a Captivate project where the first slide has audio to introduce the project. Then it proceeds to the next slide where students click on various buttons to learn more about a particular topic. There is also audio on the slides with each topic, but no audio on the slide they click on.

Adding audio to your Captivate project is one of the best ways to increase the effectiveness of the lesson. When the time comes to add audio, you have a couple of different options. For instance, if you want to add audio to the project slide, you would choose Audio > Import to > Slide.

Hi there… I have a software simulation project with.wav audio on each slide and it works *perfectly* EXCEPT when I publish it to an LMS the audio doesn’t play on the first slide; it plays fine on the rest of them, but not on the first one. I don’t know what else to check for.

Whether I would use Twine, Storyline, Rise, or something else depends on the project and the goals. Animation and Media: Storyline is great for timed animation, special effects, and controlling exactly what each slide will look like. It’s also much easier to do audio in Storyline. I use Rise for some development as well, depending on the project. While I nearly always pay professional voice over artists rather than record narration myself, I often end up doing minor audio edits. Audacity is free, open source, and does everything I need for quick audio revisions. PowerPoint. Work and self-development.

It's not a big deal if you don't need the playbar, but what if you need to give your learners the ability to mute/unmute the audio? You need to use this variable in the project to allow the learner to control the audio when there isn't a playbar.    Insert the Mute button on slide 1 of the project.

To use the Text to Speech feature, first, add the voiceover script to the slide notes. Click the Audio drop-down menu and choose Text to Speech. The script you added to the slide notes earlier appears in the main area of the window. The audio appears on the Timeline. The audio appears on the Timeline.

I’ve played with it but haven’t actually used it in a project yet. This was a project with a client I’ve worked with before, but this was their first branching scenario. A scenario that was originally 52 passages in Twine ended up as 75 slides in Storyline–significantly more changes than we had hoped. No audio or video.

If you click the New Project button, you'll create a new blank project. Click the Open option and you can retrieve and open existing Captivate 12 projects. There is no option for upgrading legacy Captivate projects to Captivate 12. For example, in Captivate 12, there aren't any slide masters.

The most recent release of Captivate allows to use those assets in two different type of projects: either a full VR project, or on individual slides in a normal cptx project. Captivate developers have been able to add background audio to their projects since Captivate was known as RoboDemo. The process of adding background audio hasn't changed much over the years. In Adobe Captivate 5, you simply choose Audio > Import to > Background and open the audio file (wav or mp3).
