LMSs – Finally vendors took notice. Authoring Tools – With only a small sample of vendors that are SaaS based, pickings are slim. Despite overall consumer demand (not just within e-learning) for tablets, and numbers showing that tablets are outselling notebooks, e-learning vendors as whole are sitting back and waiting.

I’ve heard vendors rave how awesome they are, how much their clients love them, how they understand what the market needs and wants, how their support is number one and so on and so on. Sadly to many vendors this is not feasible. I have to assume that the vendors who do not do it, are making 250M gross sales a year. .

If a vendor heavily pushes talent management, be aware that is not the same thing as skills management, and to me, makes me question what is the end game, because it hard to say TM first, and then push you are customer training B2B too. I mention this because there are vendors who continue to push towards adding performance management functionality to their learning system, with many people assuming these vendors to be, LMS vendors when it just isn’t universally true. I know of vendors who tell me they are not in the content business.
