The selection of an e-learning vendor can seem challenging. Maybe you don’t know what vendors can provide the exact product or service you need, or it might be that you aren’t even sure WHAT you need. My next few blog posts will give some tips I have found for selecting and working with vendors.

Layers and Conditions – if you have experience with Photoshop or similar products that use layers, then your learning curve is less. If you like interactions, features and lots of capabilities – you will love this product. Learn more – great idea, but they failed at this too (more in a sec).

The road ahead : I am presently developing detailed role descriptions, community guidelines, role assessment tools, and the identification of appropriate learning products and offerings. And I was happy to see that my Twitter for Learning post got the top spot for the second half of the month.

Confusing once you dive into the product – see below. Problems abound within the product – not bugs mind you, just poor processes (IMO). One of the features I do love about the product is the ability to drag and drop – yet this is the only screen you can do it from. This product was far from it.

What I like about conferences is the ability to see the latest products and hear the pitches from the vendors. Regardless, you need to have your product out and showing. Yet, for all that do it, their are equal number of vendors who do not. their own sales folks) and type of product they are pitching.

for end users to see in the final product. The ability to record audio in real time or post time makes a lot of sense and eliminates the need for using Audacity (albeit it is a wonderful and free product). There are more vendors who do not offer the ability to post – i.e. add audio afterwards it is quite amazing.

There are better ones out there (and you can use them with GeoMaestro), that understand that not everyone is an instructional designer or has those skill sets to really utilize the product. Social Learning. If your goal is to incorporate and offer social learning as part of your LMS, then this is one system I would not recommend.
