Generally speaking, a cobbled up MOOC using freeware is not going to ‘cut it’ because it wastes student time and looks unloved. As a colleague recently pointed out to me, 20 hours of the same teacher delivering content via video is boring. Simplicity is about ease of use. The MOOC needs to be intuitive to access, navigate and ‘do’ things in.

Even if you did pay, the storage is so inexpensive that I’d be surprised if you exceeded one dollar per year. Load the courses on your site. Share your link.

It looks like freeware. Dated look – I mean some of the systems looks like they were built in the 1996 with those looks, this only does a disservice to the learner and also to your system. I mean I’ve seen shareware that looks better than quite a few systems. and trying to find where to enter their courses.

I would play this at home – too many game based learning solutions look like freeware or the old Atari games from the 80s. Looks like a game that people would want to play – i.e. cool graphics, interactive, engaging, fun. The game I saw was for time management and personal productivity. Works with mobile devices.

This week I had some time to moodle around in Moodle. I really haven't dug too deep until now so this was definitely an eye opener. I didn't realize how easy it was to set up. One thing that did trip me up though is customizing reports. Moodle has some great standard reports but it doesn't appear to be too easy to customize them.
