Create a menu tab on the player. The benefit of a player tab is that the link to the shortcuts is available regardless of the slide and layouts. And then when you’re ready to publish, just disable the player tab. I usually create a separate scene and make sure it’s not visible in the player menu.

What made Flash work is that everyone had the same player and, for the most part, things kind of worked the way they were supposed to. Without the Flash player, courses run through the browser. As I mentioned in an earlier post, create a demo course with media, interactivity, and animations. Thus the demand for HTML5 courses.

For this demo, I am going to use Screen2Gif because it works well for this demo that has a lot of slides, it’s easy to use, and it’s free. Don’t include the player; just the slide. For the demo, I copied the old course screens and created new slides Storyline. That works fine for smaller courses.

That means you can use it in your elearning courses without looking like one of those MLS soccer players. First up is Storyline from Articulate. Storyline is a desktop authoring tool which Articulate would probably position alongside their current Studio suite of Presenter, QuizMaker and Engage, but for me this is definitely a replacement. A few highlights: The demo I saw was running on a Mac, so that's a plus for me.
