Putting a nice picture in the corner of a PowerPoint slide doesn’t create visual training content. . Just adding pictures doesn’t mean you’ve enhanced the content. Think charts, diagrams, pictures, animated sequences. Unsplash is one our favourite free stock photo sites but there are lots of other sources out there.

Solid backgrounds are good because you don’t get that blocky color striping that you get with pictures. You’ll have a lot more luck recording vector images that are solid versus photos. Normally you don’t want a blurry image…like when you’re out walking and take a picture of a UFO hovering over the neighborhood. If you shoot a photo or video, you can change the focal depth. I even recall one project where there was an obvious safety violation in the picture and we couldn’t reshoot it.

You can dim photos, create duo-tone overlays, darken, brighten, add exposure, add a vignette or do pretty much anything regarding colors with this type of object! Bleed photos and videos to the edge. Power-crop photos with SmartArt. The favorite hack is Power Cropping a bunch of photos in seconds. (1) Go big with visuals.
