Im not sure if the SME was reading a script, reading the notes, or just speaking from the heart. They said it "sounded more real" and they trusted it more because they knew this person was talking from experience. Not the best quality sound, but who really cares when you're listening over your crappy laptop speakers anyway.

Of course, we also used sound effects -- ping if the user answered correctly, a deep "egggh" if the user answered incorrectly. but you never wanted to overuse sound effects for fear of it being labeled as "gratuitous use".
