I will use a default size slide in PowerPoint. You may want to size your slide to be the dimensions of your particular video. But, leave some white space on the slide since you will need to frequently resize things. Save the image as a PNG file. Add the slide image to the Camtasia Studio 8 Clip Bin.

Bonus tip: If you want to add pictures or videos over the laptop image, then it’s probably a good idea to just fill the inside with black and square off the corners since the videos won’t have rounded corners. I saved it as a PNG. I also added the tutorial to the last slide for those who can’t access the Screenr tutorial.

You can draw the flap and create a curved tip like the original tutorial. Save as PNG to maintain the transparency. As I said earlier, even if you don’t need the icon image, get in the habit of practicing these types of tips. Create a rectangle. Add a radial fill. Create the envelope flap. Fill flap with a linear gradient fill.

In PowerPoint, we need to do two things: set slide size and then whatever we build we export as an image. Go to Design>Slide Size and modify the slide size. I usually save in PNG format.

In PowerPoint, add a shape to the slide. Open the selection pane to see a layered view of the objects on the slide. Or you can treat your entire slide as your image. Here are some quick tips to get you started. Click the Design tab, then click Slide Size > Custom Slide Size (or click Page Setup in older versions of PowerPoint).
