Im concerned that women will be excluded if such a focus is put on gaming skills -- or at least the gamer label. Im just raising some questions. Jay Cross says its "presumptuous and confining for developers to foist objectives on learners, for it disregards the learners needs, prior learning, and context." I think Im somewhat of an anomaly in the field. Maybe Im not an instructional designer at all. My company creates customized course development templates for organizations. Course developers (who may or may not be instructional designers) use Flash to create courses, but they dont need to know how to use Flash at all.
