DevLearn 2011 Takeaways & Reflection

Harold, Jane, Charles, Clark, and I led a session this morning that recapped people’s DevLearn experience. Then we focused on how what we’d learned in the last few days would change our behavior. It’s a key component of learning. We used a minute of silence to clear our heads of the noise of overstimulation.

DevLearn 10 Finale

DevLearn is my favorite U.S. learning conference. I have learned so much in the last three days. DevLearn ended on a high note: Richard Culatta, Cammy Bean, Aaron Silvers, Ellen Wagner, and Gina Schreck in serial Pecha Kucha. That encompasses learning & pedagogy, creativity, tech, and business. Brent Schlenker opens DevLearn 10. The only disappointment with DevLearn 10 so far is that wi-fi is totally inadequate. Tomorrow morning, the Internet Time Alliance will be taking the helm at Social Learning Camp starting at 10:00 and continuing on for most of the day. I have been unable to blog any sessions.

Andy McAfee at DevLearn

Harvard’s MIT’s Andy McAfee’s opening keynote was the perfect set-up for 2 1/2 days of exploring social learning at DevLearn. A ppropriately, he addressed how business is changing; he didn’t have to tell the 1,500 learning developers that they better get with the program. Related post from February 2009.
