I've been working with Steve Wexler and the eLearningGuild on the eLearning 2.0 survey and report. Some interesting data points are coming out of the study. Right now there are more than 1000 respondents. I've not really seen good numbers on what people are using as part of their day-to-day lives. I thought Twitter was nothing more than instant messaging on steroids.  I am a Johnny-come-lately to the Twitter scene (Twittersphere).  Forget information overload.  I saw it as information suicide.  Experience has changed my mind. It’s Thursday evening, Thanksgiving Day in the United States.  I’ve been following the #Mumbai hash tag on Twitter, and it has been a learning journey in more ways than one. They continue to push consumer companies for more connectivity, more ways to create their own content and more access to information through instant messaging applications and voice activated internet search. While kids are growing up with cell phones, internet access, virtual worlds and a culture that rewards creating digital networks and online content, the basic instructional paradigm for teaching those students has not adapted to the explosive use of technology among the culture of third millennials.
