Here's a snippet of a conversation we had at yesterday's Social Media Mastermind Roundtable meetup in Orange County. Just as we do every Saturday morning, the meet starts with no agenda but never fails to touch on new/interesting topics. He didn't really say what type of curve, so I had to frame it for myself somehow. can delete spam.

Security problems will results--and new kinds of privacy disputes are inevitable. Key Highlights (paraphrased) On knowledge and education: - Nicholas Carr was wrong - Google will not make us stupid.

In a classroom session I facilitated a few weeks back on the topic of Facebook, we had the opportunity to talk a bit about privacy settings. In addition to the excellent resources above from Facebook's Safety page, I included some thoughts below about the minimum privacy settings I'd feel comfortable with for minors. Good idea.

We respect your privacy and will not sell, trade or otherwise abuse your e-mail.) Fourteen year old Danny Oates, from Huntington Beach, CA is dead. Danny was killed on August 29 last year by a driver who prosecutors say may have been texting while driving. Then, just last month, a train collided with another in Chatsworth, CA.

Daniel Solove has written a new book on the Internet and Privacy, it is called: " Understanding privacy " (yes, not a catchy, but indeed a very clear title). However I feel that privacy is very important and needs to be safeguarded, yet at the same time I love the open and sharing principle of the current knowledge age.
