Im using Lectora to develop a SCORM package that will eventually be imported and used in the LMS. For now, Im focusing on the Captivate integration.

Im concerned that women will be excluded if such a focus is put on gaming skills -- or at least the gamer label. Im just raising some questions. I guess Im saying the focus should be less on "gaming" and more on use of new technology (social networking sites, gadgets, etc.) I dont have a conclusion here. Its all really muddy.

I recommend having a motivating example before you bother showing learners the things theyll be able to do afterwards; if they dont understand why its important, they wont care what they can do. Belatedly, Im thinking that there are relatively easy ways to enable learners to have cake or to eat it as they see fit.

There are great tools with a short learning curve (for example, Adobe Captivate and Articulate Presenter) and tools with a longer learning curve that are really excellent (for example, Lectora, and Flashform). There seems to be a mix between contract and full time positions, and Im not sure how to read into that.

For example. If I notice Im losing someones attention in class, Ill instantly make direct eye-contact, maybe raise an eyebrow, and start talking directly to that student, and most of the time. Im the same when teaching face-to-face -- big user of the laugh to create connection. you get their attention again.

Im a Word power-user and love all the little tricks and shortcuts. I agree that it will be a process of Conversion by Example. I started off cutting and pasting a lot of documents from Word into the wiki. Now Ive left Word behind and am writing everything directly in the wiki. Ive had to get used to the formatting -- or lack thereof.
