In the past, I’ve created conversation-driven eLearning with video, animation, and photos. After the initial video, we used cutout still photos of the same actors. This requires a custom photo shoot, but it’s much cheaper than using video for the entire course. Photos or Illustrations.

Many of the courses I see use bland, corporate branded templates coupled with generic stock images. You may be stuck with generic stock photos, but choose the ones that align to your course content. If you use photos, select the same type with similar backgrounds. If you always use photos, try illustrations.
