I have been a big fan of social bookmarking and my preferred tool for social bookmarking has been Delicious. With the initial rumor that Yahoo will be discontinuing it and now the news they may be selling it , I imported my bookmarks to Diigo. It was a very easy process and retained all of my tags.

for Learning Professionals Course is starting and the topic is Social Bookmarks. It's fun to have a group that is partly experience and partly new with social learning going on. The second week of our Web 2.0 I also saw that several people have posted slideshare presentations embedded into the forums.

You can find a long list of tools broken into authoring tools, games/simulations, quiz/test tools, social media, delivery platforms, tracking and whether they support mobile. Beyond that, probably the best thing to do is to use eLearning Learning to go through it’s open source eLearning and open source eLearning Tools.

Two weeks ago Jane Hart wrote an article titled, Social Learning: to be or not to be? , in which Jane expresses her dislike of the term Social Learning (big S, big L). Jane claims that “Social Learning has come to refer exclusively to the use of social media in top-down, formal learning.”
