There are thousands of blogs dedicated to education in the UK, and many of them have great content that can inspire, inform or challenge.

Facebook is already the world's largest photo repository, and with almost 850 million accounts and over 100 billion connections, has to be one of the most influential communications devices ever created to bring people together. My view is that in the social media universe, blogging is potentially the most powerful tool.

I'm blogging this

As you might expect, I encourage my students to blog regularly to support their learning. I have written extensively on the benefits of academic blogging , but perhaps the two most important positive outcomes are personal reflection and public dialogue. Some of my current group of education students are particularly active in blogging.

#blideo - a new blogging challenge

The challenge was simple - you shared an image with a friend (or three) and challenged them to write a short, learning related blog about it. blimage = blog + image. Those who have participated in #blimage have reported that their visitor traffic has increased, their writing has improved, and they have engaged in a little creativity.
