The whole active/inactive pricing model, was at one time the right way to go, but now, it scares me. Anyway, it can be done – active/inactive, but always have it specifically clarified on how it works. One vendor, eLogic Learning, offers a registration model, which IMO, is an excellent approach for the B2B/B2C space. .

A new trend to help save on the costs is the “active” versus “in-active” user. Factors include the number of seats. The more seats you purchase, the less it costs per seat. A seat is (a learner) and one user name/one password. But in the end, seat costs will vary.

And even worse, there are tools that continue to have problems with xAPI, even SCORM, or some other items and when the customer inquires for help, the tool tells them it is the fault of the learning system, when uh, no, it is your product.
