Many of the courses I see use bland, corporate branded templates coupled with generic stock images. You may be stuck with generic stock photos, but choose the ones that align to your course content. If you use photos, select the same type with similar backgrounds. If you always use photos, try illustrations.

ATD does a much better job, their app is awful – a trade show theme apparently, but the pathways are easy to navigate. I don’t like that they lack an extensive set of digital assets including stock photos as part of their solution. Plus they always stick the big map at the back of the floor.

Any of these sights or experiences would surely frighten most people, but we, in the L&D and Training communities deal far too often with horrors that other departments would surely crumble under. Some do a far better job than others, which is why it can be a bit confusing out there, in deciding who to select. I totally agree.
