As usual, I will be at DevLearn (in Las Vegas) this next week, and welcome meeting up with you there. Here’re the things I’m involved in: On Tuesday, I’m running an all day workshop on eLearning Strategy. It’s at least partly a Serious eLearning Manifesto session. DevLearn is probably my favorite conference of the year: learning focused, technologically advanced, well organized, and with the right people. There is a lot going on. Hint: it’s really a Revolutionize L&D workshop ;). Of course, there’s much more.

xAPI Camp – DevLearn 2015 is ONE DAY AWAY

The first xAPI Camp at DevLearn, the first of four events we’re putting on hosted by The eLearning Guild , is nigh upon us. Last year was the first year there was an official xAPI Track at DevLearn and, together, we are upping that ante again (…in Vegas). The eLearning Guild is a terrific host and partner in making xAPI Camp available to attendees as a pre-conference event. We are so happy that Andy Johnson and Craig Wiggins will be with us on Tuesday and throughout the week at DevLearn. They have a booth at DevLearn’s Expo Hall, Booth 414.

So we are off to an excellent start with DevLearn. We have two main standards in our industry SCORM and IACC, both of them enable us to track and trace results, both of them confine eLearning within the borders of the LMS. This leaves us with one standard and but more importantly it ‘frees’ eLearning from the boundaries of the LMS. Here is my wrap-up. Trends?

This past week I was at the always great DevLearn conference, the biggest and arguably best yet. I was pleased to have the biggest turnout yet for a workshop, and take the interest in elearning strategy as an indicator that the revolution is taking hold. I also talked about trying to change the pedagogy of elearning in the Wadhwani Foundation , the approach we’re taking and the challenges we face. If you want to get your mind around the forefront of learning technology, at least in the organizational space, DevLearn is the place to be. So what did I learn?
