Another big-time player in the learning technology/system space is Vista Equity, a PE, who at one-time in the 2009-time frame owned SumTotal. In 2021, they invested in Schoox.

There has always been some spin with numerous vendors that if you are in a small business, your training/learning needs are not the same as if you were in a 2,500 size company and so on. .

Thus, I focused on at least 50% for Tier 5 (although the higher the better, but even today, vendors are still a work in progress on these items), 85% or higher for Tier 4, 100% Tier 3. I won’t say who the vendor is, but they are big into adaptive learning and push that as the key for their system. Every item received points.

From a vendor perspective there was a huge impact, but what was odd, is that some vendors still are living in the past, as though, this is a minor blip, and in 2021, everything will go back as it was – corporate wise that is. It’s much easier than say going directly to the content provider, buying it from them and then having them talk to your LMS vendor to put it in for you (which, honestly you should do, because it will save you money).

SumTotal Learning Management – They have come a long way. I readily admit for the longest time I was not a fan of SumTotal, but that was then, this is now. Linkedin Learning – I slide them in as a Digital Learning Platform in the entire sense of the word. A lot of potential and a vendor to watch in 2020.

I saw a lot more folks than in previous shows and more e-learning vendors too. Equally there were several ILT vendors who had some type of online learning thing going on. More interactive when it came to identifying sessions to attend, seeing where the vendors were located on exhibitor floor and so forth.

Can add Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ : interesting about Linkedin – it is not that widely used by college students. If this is something you are looking for – i.e. a HCM, then they are the ones to go with – over Cornerstone, Oracle-Taleo, SumTotal and alike. User interface is excellent.
