I am not able to publish one of my projects to computer (SWF/HTML5) though I have had no trouble publishing other similar projects which also have the same selections in publish settings or preferences under Edit and Quiz. I was able to publish this project in SWF only. but still cannot resolve the problem.

I have published as both an SWF and an HTML5 and have had no problems playing it as a flash file but of course that create the Youtube issue. I am publishing to HTML5 and uploading to my LMS server. This only publishes in SWF format so it may not be the most useful in an age when HTML5 is quickly gaining popularity over Flash. The problem with this is that it’s very hard to maintain a table of contents and each course has it’s own SCORM data. This is done using the Project End Options in the Preferences. See image below).

When i delete the.pdf,swf data from the zip, nothing will start. Right now my only concern is to somehow get it to work and I’m not sure if the problem is on the captivate side or the moodle side. So far the only option I found to use captivate on moodle together with LMS is ths learning package.

The problem is that the smart object doesn’t appear. I am having an additional but similar problem where I am trying to use an arrow to point to text on the screen as I narrate. The text appears as expected in the browser but at the end of the slide, I ask the user to click a smart button to continue.

At this moment the biggest problem with software simulations are the slides which cannot be interactive because they show mouse movements/scrolling/dragging. Those are SWF-based but will be converted to MP4 when publishing to HTML5. They still didn’t like the real exams of course.

The problem went away. Recently one of my colleagues upgraded Captivate to the latest release, 10.0.1.285, and since then whenever she publishes to HTML5 and then launches the index file the project starts and pauses on a blank slide that is NOT part of the project.
