many authoring systems don’t support design – they provide formatting options. Need to provide meaningful consequences. Can you show me an active demo, a detailed sim, or provide an opportunity to directly observe the desired performance? Often it’s skipped altogether. Or it’s perceived that analysis is already done by SMEs.

Before Apply – provide planners (reference guides, wikis, blogs, elearning). During Apply – provide sidekicks (job aids, context sensitive help, FAQ’s, coach/mentor, help desk, twitter). After Apply – provide quick checks (checklists, assessment tools, feedback loop). It’s helping the learner/performer APPLY.
