Wow, had a great 3 days at DevLearn, met some absolutely wonderful, fascinating and brilliant folks. DevLearn presentation on Future of Learning from Karl Kapp. It is better to have one “expert” avatar and another “motivational” avatar in a learning environment rather than having one combined “mentor” avatar.

I try to attend a Guild conference every other year and alternate between Learning Solutions Conference and DevLearn. Giving back to a professional association is both a reward and a benefit.

That is, we’re intending several rounds of content, activity, and feedback, spread out over several days or weeks. We don’t want people to hear good ideas, and maybe take them back.

A Look Back At DevLearn 2016 – Some Session Takeaways

I recently attended DevLearn along with Caoimhín , Phily and Eoghan from the LearnUpon sales and marketing teams. Penn shared how he has a mentor, Johnny Thompson , who he tries to meet once a week for a couple of hours to share stories, ideas and learn from. Once again DevLearn was an excellent conference with lots of great insights.

Thoughts on Learning Design Strategy

At the DevLearn conference, I ran a Morning Buzz on Learning Design Strategy. A final solution was to move quickly to mentoring, which implicitly suggests including mentoring in the design. I’m happy to say that the participants threw in lots of ideas, and I thought they were worth capturing.
