But note that if you simply insert the Captivate simulation as a Flash swf file into Lectora without doing anything to limit the course navigation, then the learner can easily click right on through to the next page in the title. Reason is that the most recent version of Chrome decided to ban Auoplay from all ‘websites’, which means also from eLearning courses running in a web browser. The workflow described in that blog post would takes less time if these feature requests were fulfilled: Being able to use one of the slides as Poster image.

One of my most visited blog posts published 7 years ago (Captivate 5, 5.5) is Where is Null? Beware: the embedded movie is a SWF, you need a browser with enabled Flash Player to watch that movie. Everything worked fine for SWF output also in later versions. That part described in the old blog post is still valid !

I’m a big proponent of HTML5’s suitability for elearning, and one of Artisan’s special areas of focus is on creating usable 508-compliant courses, so we are definitely hoping for an update that addresses the SWF-only output soon.
