Facebookers for example, generally use their real names and images. Should they see all a student's Facebook photos for example? I'm speaking at ALT-C this week in a symposium called ' New Bottles, Old Wine? which will take the form of a debate over the ethics of research and intervention in Web 2.0 environments. Posterous will do smart things for photos, audio files and links, documents and video (both links AND files). Facebook : a tool that allows you to discuss, share resources, embed other social media. recent US research project (by a PhD student mind you) has reported that users of FaceBook are generally toffs from wealthier homes and are more likely to study in further/higher education than that great unwashed working class lot who like using MySpace. used to have a MySpace , but abandoned it because FaceBook was easier to use.
Saturday, August 11, 2007 New Photo Blog After reading someones goal of a photo a day, seeing some friends photo pages ( Angela White ), and someones photo blog ( Bruce Kirkby ), I wanted to create a collection of my own work. love taking photos when I travel, on day trips, and of friends and family. and cha.
Probably the simplest way I can describe it is to call it "Facebook for Academics." If you are a faculty member or administrative staff at a college or university then you might be tempted to check out Academia.edu. All institutions are organized on the top level of a 'tree' (i.e. an organizational chart).
