The Oxford Dictionary defines reputation as the opinions or views that are generally held of someone or something with respect to character or other qualities. Reputation systems give people information about others’ past performance. I scanned the book " The Future of Reputation." What hit me is this: Someone's reputation in the Internet could be an asset that can be destroyed very quickly. This tells me that good reputation as an asset in the Internet must be vigorously monitored. It is interesting to read, although it addressed more solutions for protection of privacy in legal and government policies. Rumors spread very fast and often times over-presenting the truths of the story.
