Not to mention that just about everyone knows how to use Facebook or Twitter already, so in that sense they have prior knowledge. In summary, then, we see that enterprise social networking is multifaceted. In the meantime, bear in mind that social forums grow organically. Yammer has been quite a success at my workplace. Not off the charts like at Deloitte , yet very much alive and growing. enterprise 2.0

Losing interest in social media: there is no there there

After recreating my online social network ( largely based on blogs from early 2000) in Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and Quora, G+ was a chore. spent a few weeks of responding to G+ friend requests, trying to engage with a few people, posting a few random links, all the while trying to upkeep (occasionally) Twitter and (almost never) Facebook. I’ve concluded that most of the hype around social media is nonsense and that people, particularly the self-proclaimed social media elite are clothing-less. What has social media actually done?

It’s been a rather quiet 2011 on this blog. Therewere many blog posts that crossed my mind that didn’t get written. Hopefully 2012will be a better year for this blog. Here’s a summary of blog posts of 2011: Iexplored the question of whether an organization/business unit should be delivery led or sales led. I am still struggling to findthe right balance. Acall from a recruiter who had not checked my LinkedIn public profile made mewonder why recruiters aren’t using social networking to hire. But in reality, I think I just make enough effort.
