What if instead of focusing primarly on the LMS, you went courses first from a vendor and in return got the LMS for free. The Courseware LMS Approach – Early days and today. When courseware LMSs first started showing up back in the day, it was just about the courses. . First off, there are vendors out there who pitch they are an LMS when in reality they are a courseware provider that has some type of learning platform. Even when L&D professionals consciously integrate interactivity into their online courseware, I usually don’t think it’s all that engaging anyway. Yes, I know you can embed real interactivity into courseware via games, branched simulations, virtual worlds etc, but hardly anyone does that. A touch dramatic, isn’t it? But you know what? The best of both worlds.

While no tool provides every desired feature, we’re investing hugely in ZebraZapps to the advantage of our clients for whom we build turnkey courseware as well as all ZebraZapps users. Of course we’d all welcome easier design and greater impact, but if we were doing proper analysis, we’d often find greater benefit from putting more effort into courseware that takes greater advantage of what technology can do. It makes more complex interactivity affordable and frees authors from the restrictions of templates. We’ll get smart eventually, and so will our courseware.
