Tear Down The Walls: Web 2.0 Extends Class

Kapp Notes

Just completed the Learning in 3D Class in which students were able to experience Second Life , ProtonMedia's ProtoSphere and several Web 2.0 tools. Graduate students in instructional technology were required to post on this blog, contribute to a wiki and post a machinimia project on YouTube and TeacherTube. One of the most amazing things to me is the reach of the student's work through the Web 2.0 tools.

From the Coleface

Hiding stealthily in the August issue of Accountancy is a story stating that Ernst & Young have created 200 new graduate jobs in India for UK tax compliance work over the next 2 years. A Theory of Fun

Thanks go to Brent Schenkler who recommended this book. A Theory of Fun by Raph Koster (Paraglyph Press, 2005), is aimed at games designers, but as Raph reminds us "games serve as fundamental and powerful learning tools", so I guess all of us in learning and development are games designers to some extent. A Theory of Fun is a fun book to read. Raph is an excellent communicator with a real passion for games.

(1) because nobody can remember the wierd way I decided to spell 'fastrak'; (2) because the URL is so long - [link] - that people give up half way through typing it to have a breather; (3) because I could have just called it Clive Shepherd Ltd and not tr
