By the way, the Work Literacy Ning is free, and it will continue to be a valuable resource after the workshop has concluded. would also vote for Ning when it comes to ease of use. Ning is a service that allows you to create online social networks. We were evaluating some freely available networks when one of my friends referred Ning. Ning instantly communicated to us that it had all the features to make an online network work well. Reasons.

The Internet Time Community has been hosted on Ning for a little over three years. was shocked and saddened when Ning announced that its free service was ending. Lots of non-profits had signed up on Ning. Ning could have at least provided a decent migration path away from their service. In essence, they were betrayed.

I just joined a new Moodle group: iMoodle , on Ning. All the usual Ning features are here, including setting up a "My Page" specific to this group. I’ve used Ning, I’ve read and talked about Ning, but I haven’t’ actually put any thought to what it is or how I can get the most out of it. Ning is “a platform for creating your own social network , and leaving you in control of all aspects of it (public/private, tools, etc). Academia 2.0

I've been exploring Ning a little further than I did and compared it to other forums like socialgo, collectivex and grou.ps. Gro.ups is open source, has a lot of similar functionalities to ning (and more- you can upload files easily) and is also without advertisements (for free!). few tips for ning administrators: 1.
