These are my live blogged notes from the webinar How to Create No Lecture Webinars by Ray Jimenez , presented through Training Magazine Network. 350 participants right now–a big group for an interactive webinar. Sent a survey in advance, including a question asking for ideas on how to stop lecturing in webinars.

At ThirdForce as part of the launch of the new Syllabus 5 for the ECDL we are running a series of short webinars alongside our information days for new and existing customers. Along comes webinar technology and suddenly this problem is all but solved. The ease at which participation is enabled means webinars are a growing business.

This evening I attended a TrainingMag Network webinar by Ray Jiminez - Chief Architect at Vignettes Learning. Ray was addressing the topic of creating 'Lecture free Webinars'. Webinars are great. However, boring lectures kill webinars. Most webinars are extensions of talking heads clicking their PowerPoints to death.

The last few online webinars I've attended there's been an interesting issue. So, both the webinar tool (Elluminate, WebEx, Adobe Connect, etc.) In the meeting that I ran, I suggested that we would prefer that everyone uses the chat inside the webinar tool. For right now, I've been asking people to chat using the webinar tool.
