Context is King!

Breakthrough eLearning

I received an email invitation today to join a webinar to be led by Ed Cohen, the Chief Technology Officer of Plateau Systems, titled "The Future of Learning Content." Ratemyteachers is a community site where pupils and parents can rate teachers on a variety of criteria from clarity to coolness. What I think is more significant than the ratings is the fact that the rating process is actually going on.

Online communication is not second best

Clive on Learning

We know online communication is practical, in that it allows us to keep in touch with each other at a distance, but we would normally consider it a second best to face-to-face communication; in other words, we do it because there is no practical alternative. I must admit that this was essentially my perception, but a chance encounter (albeit face-to-face) at a conference this week has made me think twice.
