Wikipedia effect. You need this feedback in order to get what we call the “Wikipedia effect’. Most social learning tools have a search option as the main way of finding content. Good content , because it is read and shared frequently, will rise in the search results where it will be found easily. The Google effect.

I've mentioned before the experience of the Ten Year Old Wikipedia Update and also my questioning of Cursive Writing. The most recent aha is the learning associated with kids search behavior. DuckDuckGo: I’ve largely replaced Google for search, but search (and Wikipedia) are powerful learning opportunities. Twitter: Of course, Twitter is a way to have debates, as I recently found out, as well as chats (c.f. lrnchat and #guildchat). There’s also a steady stream of the latest news.

Interesting article - What is Popular on Wikipedia and Why? Excerpts rom the introduction - Wikipedia 's English version has more than 1.6 Pages related to entertainment and sexuality represent more than 50 percent of the most visited Wikipedia pages. 70 percent of Wikipedia's traffic comes from search engines.

First of all there’s the ‘as needed’ searches for specific information. Here I typically use DuckDuckGo as my search engine, and often end up at Wikipedia. Most seeking is two-fold, and mine’s no exception. With much experience, I trust it.

First, Open AI used the largest training dataset, combining a database containing much of the internet, a huge library of books, and Wikipedia. Because its training included unvalidated sources like the internet and Wikipedia, some of the content it produces must be corrected. Think of it as a crowd-sourced training effort.
