The Latest from the eLearning Learning Community

When you put all this together you get an interesting result, you are able to map all types of learning across the landscape, from structured, company specific workshops on the one hand through to autonomous exploration and play - and everything in between. Compulsory eLearning courses/workshops within your business. In my previous post I asked the question, 'Is Autonomous Learning the same as Informal Learning?' I'd been reading Daniel Pink's new book Drive and my mind had turned to thinking about autonomy, learning and motivation.

The Best from the eLearning Learning Community

At the Informatology Conference in London next week, I'm running a short Twitter Workshop for those who are new to Twitter, so I've just completed the (stand-alone) presentation. Tags: Presentations & Workshops Learning Ecosyste The term "learning ecosystem" seems to be popping up every couple of weeks at the moment. Now that may be because I'm leading a session on it at the Learning Technologies conference . So I'm just noticing it more.
Today I had the pleasure of leading a full day workshop with very enthusiastic participants at the Online Educa Berlin 2009 conference. This blog was the joint working space for the workshop as everyone was a collaborator. The full day workshop was divided into 4 session, one of which was a totally 'walk to talk' or hands-on session in which all the participants roamed through the streets and the building building a mobile project. The number of participants was limited to 20 enabling us all to network and exchange our knowledge with the other participants. For this occasion
Alright, the actual title for the 2-day workshop was: E-Learning Implementation and Web 2.0 Technologies in the Higher Education Sector The main objective of this hands-on practical workshop was to develop an understanding of the implementation and application of e-learning technologies within an institution of higher education. This workshop was actually more intended for academics new to e-learning , rather than learning freaks like me. I continue to run my Social Media in Learning Workshops, of which the 6 week Social Learning in Your Organisation online workshop is proving to be quite popular. I've been presenting to a lot of groups recently where many of those in the audience were not social media tools users. Having talked about the importance of social media tools for learning and that, in my opinion, all learning professionals needed to be social-media-savvy in order to advise on their use within learning and performance support, I have been constantly asked by participants where they could go for a quick,
Jay is a wise man using humor to spice up any workshop and at this occasion he was wearing a yellow tie and suspenders. The workshop is taken a complete day, but unfortunately I had a deadline to meet in the afternoon, so what follows is only on the first part of the day (before lunch). Jay Cross had asked me to be one of the 'guides' during the workshop. The audience was very diverse but all with an eLearning perspective and their social media background as well. A
