As I reach for my iPhone first thing in the morning to check my email, or see what’s happening on Twitter while I’m pushing a kid on the swing I’ve also been thinking about the rush of dopamine we must all get when we get a new email, twitter @ reply, blog comment, etc. Oh the thrill! Oh the excitement! Oh the addiction! need it.

Those who get Twitter and those who don't. OK, I'm joking, but Twitter does seem to divide people. Well, anyone who uses Twitter on a regular basis will tell you that the power of the tool is not so much in its content, but in its ability to connect you to other people. I've decided then to just go ahead and purge myself of all these tabs relating to Twitter-centric resources - fully understanding that #1 I shall never be as complete nor as dilligent in my coverage of these things as Jane is and #2 that the list will be hopelessly out of date as soon as I stop typing and hit publish. The BBC Online News headline runs ' Twitter hype punctured by Study ', but I'm not convinced that there has been any more hype for Twitter than there was for any other social web service. In fact I think that both Facebook and YouTube have grabbed more column inches that Twitter over the last year or two. no-one. So what?
